Our Services Include:
- Home-study evaluations and updates
- Therapeutic and educational parent preparation for all domestic and international adoptions
- Assistance with paperwork necessary to meet the Connecticut state regulations for adoptive parents
- Post-adoption supervision
- After your child comes home, support and guidance for issues of adjustment
- Basic developmental assessment
- Referrals to appropriate developmental and / or mental-health professionals for post-adoption issues
- Co-parent adoption home studies
- Staff is knowledgeable about co-parent adoption issues
- Our agency can work with the family’s attorney or provide a referral of an attorney to help with the probate court process
- U.S. Foster-Adoption Placement and Supervision
- Assistance with identifying a child or sibling group within the U.S. foster/adoption system
- Education and preparation for the potential adoptive family to adopt a child with a trauma history
- Coordination with out-of-state social workers to obtain and clarify information on each child's history and current circumstances
- Supervision of the child within Connecticut after placement in the adoptive family's home
- Coordination with the state Interstate Compact Offices (ICPC) to facilitate placement, services, and finalization of the adoption
- Assistance with citizenship and immigration services (CIS) for international adoptions
- Quarterly newsletter for adoptive parents
