The Children’s Home Society has helped build families through adoption since 1889
and has placed over 23,000 children with families throughout the United States.
The agency is located in St. Paul, Minnesota but places children all over the U.S.
Their international program coordinators specialize in adoptions from a particular country,
and each has knowledge of the language and culture.
Children’s Home Society partners with different home study agencies in each
state to provide home study and post-placement services, while Children’s Home Society
acts as the placing agency of the child directly from a particular country.
Current countries that Children’s Home Society works with are:
Children’s Home Society also has an active “Waiting Children” program for many of these countries. These children generally have known medical or developmental issues, are older children, or are part of a biologically-related sibling group. Children’s Home Society has a strong commitment to finding families for these children, and there are sometimes shorter wait times, flexibility on requirements, grants, and fee reductions for some of the waiting children
